Tips For Finding a Good Steel Fencing Installer

If you require steel fencing for your home or business premises it can be expensive so you want to make sure that the company installing it are experts and the finished steel fencing will look good and perfectly suit your needs and specifications. Here are a few tips to help you ensure that the company you employ are reputable and that if you have any problems or are unhappy with any work conducted, you will be able to get rectified with the minimum amount of hassle.

One of the first things to look for is whether the steel fencing company has a commercial place of business. If the company is established and has a permanent residence then they are more likely to be around if you have any problems after the steel fencing installation in comparison to somebody who you don’t know where they are based. Do your research on the company and if possible get references from previous jobs they have undertaken. Some contractors may pose as experts when they have very little experience so a company with a good reputation is better.

When finding a steel fencing company also check whether they will undertake the work themselves with permanent employees or will sub-contract it out to a 3rd party. If a company contracts out the work then they may have less control and knowledge of delivery times, installation standards and completion dates and this could lead to problems for you. The communication will be better between you and the installer if they are conducting the work themselves with their own employees. Sub-contractors can sometimes have more than one job to work on at any one time so your completion time may be delayed if they have other work to also do elsewhere.

Another thing to check is whether the work comes with a written guarantee. A written guarantee proves that the work has been undertaken and that if there are any future problems linked to the initial steel fencing installation, they may be rectified free of charge. Guarantees are usually for one year as standard but if you can negotiate a longer one this could be beneficial in the future.
